Starting a business in today’s world is no easy feat, especially for marginalized groups such as Black people and women. However, some are able to push through the hardships and make a name for themselves, one of these people being Angela Simmons.  While she comes from a successful family, she has made a name for herself with her incredible work ethic and business savvy.  Let’s dig into how she makes her money, and the estimated Angela Simmons net worth.

Angela Simmons was born on September 18th, 1987 in Queens, New York. Her parents are Valerie Vaughn and Joseph Simmons, more famously known as “Run” from the Hip-Hop group Run DMC.  The family appeared on the breakout reality series “Run’s House” over a number of years.

TV Appearances

“Run’s House” started in 2005.  The show was about how Run lived with his wife, Justine Simmons, and his five children, including Angela Simmons. The show stopped in 2009 after the couple’s chemistry was no longer cutting it for the cameras. However, a spin-off was later made called “Daddy’s Girls,” which starred Angela and her sister Vanessa, and gave insight on their lives and the businesses they started.

Some other shows Simmons has appeared or co-starred in are “Mad Fashion,” “Fashion News Live,” and WeTV’s “Growing Up Hip-Hop.” The television appearances only helped her life as a businesswoman, and helped highlight the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.  The shows later helped show how she navigated life as a single mother.

She later went on to do “Just Angela,” a show that also showcases her life as a business owner and philanthropist.

Business Ventures

Angela and Vanessa co-founded Pastry Footwear, an athletic footwear brand that gained a lot of popularity. While there was a decline in sales and a lot of rebranding, the business made over $75 million in sales (Impact Magazine). Not only was the brand a success, but it also gave them the recognition they deserved as young business-savvy entrepreneurs.

More of Simmons’s business ventures include Simmons Beauty and Angela Cakes. Launched during the pandemic, Simmons Beauty is a celebrity skincare brand that sells anti-aging creams, serums, and more. The website also has skincare tips and links Simmons’s books “Face It: Taking Control of Your Health” and “All About Skin.” Speaking of health, her brand Angela Cakes sells vegan cake mix that can be used for cakes, waffles, and more. Simmons has also had multiple brand deals including her collaborations with Popilush, Yummy Extensions, and Dhair Boutique, all giving her extra income.

Angela Simmons Net Worth and Life Update

Between show appearances, her different business, and her collaborations with other brands, Angela Simmons currently has a net worth of about $7 million (Celebrity Net Worth). While she has been successful in business, her love life seems to be a little less than that.

Yo Gotti and Angela Simmons got together in 2022, and made it public in early 2023. The two were together for about two and a half years before splitting earlier this year. In an interview, Simmons’s said, “No, it was my choice, you know, I just, I had to make a decision…Much love and respect to him, he’s doing his thing. I’m happy for him.”

Luckily, the two seemed to end things off on not-so-bad terms. With no kids between the two of them, hopefully they can move on and find other people.
