Tems & Burna Boy Join Children of Blood and Bone as Music Producers

Grammy Award winners Tems and Burna Boy will be joining the crew of Children of Blood and Bone to work on the soundtrack as the executive music producers.

Children of Blood and Bone is a film adaptation of a romantic novel by Nigerian-American author Tomi Adeyemi. The book, which was released in 2018, is a part of a series titled Legacy of Orïsha. The film was originally to be produced by Fox 2000 Pictures and Temple Hill Productions. However, it was given to Lucasfilm after Disney acquired Fox.

The founder of BlackFilmandTV, Wilson Morales, confirmed, “At the trailer launch event in New York City for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming epic fantasy film, Children of Blood and Bone, director Gina Prince-Bythewood announced that singer Tems will executive-produce and curate the soundtrack for the film. She also contributed three songs. Burna Boy is coming on board as the executive music consultant,”

Gina Prince-Bythewood, the director of other popular movies like Beyond the Lights and The Woman King, will be in charge of directing. In 2020, she became the first black woman to be a director of a major comic-book film, The Old Guard. She is also credited as a writer.

Other talented Nigerian artists to join the movie include Ayra Starr, Fireboy DML, and BNXN.

Tems as Music Producers Works on Children of Blood and Bone Soundtrack 

Nigerian singer and songwriter Tems will be lending her talents to the crew of Children of Blood and Bone as a music record producer. Set in a fantasy world, the Grammy-nominated singer will perfect the audio for the movie’s soundtrack. From the music to the lyrics, Tems will be letting her creativity flow from beyond artistry to production.

The “Wait for U” singer will create original songs to be included in the movie. In addition, one of the soundtrack included in the Children of Blood and Bone trailer was made by Tems.

She recently made headlines after delivering a wonderful performance of a Lauryn Hill tribute at the 2026 BET Awards. In addition, her solo performance was a breath of fresh air for the audience, gaining her accolades for a well-delivered live performnace of “What You Need”.

Burna Boy To Create Soundtrack for Children of Blood and Bone as Music Producers

Not just Tems but Burna Boy will also be working on the project as the executive musician. This will not be his first time working as a producer for a movie. Last year, he was on the pan-African thriller film 3 Cold Dishes, where he served as a producer.

Burna boy is coming back as a record consultant and will be working alongside Grammy singer Tems to incorporate the African music with modern sounds on the set of Tomi Adeyemi’s adaptation.

The African icon gave a captivating performance alongside Spanish legend Shakira at the Topps Halftime Show in the FIFA’s World Cup 2026 finals. In 2024, he became the first African artist to have earned over 1 billion streams from two albums.
