The Game Sexual Assault Allegations Revisited – What Did It All Cost The Rapper

The Game has been a rap titan for over twenty years, with legendary albums like The Documentary, LAX, Jesus Piece and his most recent, DRILLMATIC Heart vs Mind.  His career has spawned hits like “Hate It or Love It,” “Eazy,” “It’s Okay (One Blood)” and “How We Do” cementing his place in the industry. But after years in the industry, anyone is bound to attract controversy. For many rappers, this usually involves beef with other artists or a controversial sexual history. The Game is no exception to either.

Of course, he’s had his famous beef with 50 Cent and G-Unit. From the Hot 97 shooting to ongoing spats over writing credits on The Documentary to his recent New York appearance calling out their history, the two continue to feud despite the beef dissipating over the years. It seems like time can heal wounds, but always leaves scars.

Outside of his music history, The Game has also faced allegations that have left a stain on his legacy and a dent in his bank account. In 2015, while filming the VH1 dating show ‘She’s Got Game’, The Game and Priscilla Rainey went on an off-camera date where he was accused of forcibly groping her. Later while shooting scenes on a tour bus, Rainey confronted him.  The situation ultimately lead to Rainey suing The Game for battery in August 2015.

The Game tried to avoid the charges, attempting to sue the network for failing to vet Rainey as a contestant and taking to Instagram to badmouth her. He went on a rant online, saying things like, “don’t be fooled by these accusations or the dollar amount in the headlines cause I put that on my favorite aunties poodle this broad ain’t gettin sh*t!” The Game would go on to regret those statements, as he would lose the case.

The Game had a history of assault charges up to this point, but none as expensive as this one, with Rainey asking for $10 million.  The judge awarded Rainey with a default judgment because The Game never answered the charges in court! An additional mistake in this situation. Rainey was orderd to receive $1.13 million in compensatory damages, with an additional $6 million in punitive damages. . While the case is over a decade old, it still haunts him as his Calabasas mansion was ordered to be sold as payment just last year, finally, possibly bringing the ordeal to an end.

The Game has long pledged that Rainey would not receive a dollar from him, attempting to delay for as long as possible throughout the process.  He also tried to get granted a new trial, claiming that there was an issue with the paperwork in the original case, but he was denied in 2019.

Until this day he claims his innocence.

The Game continues to drop music, most recently releasing Gangsta Grillz: E.M.N.T. – The Credits in January. The mixtape is a deluxe edition of his Every Movie Needs a Trailer mixtape that came out last year and serves as a teaser for The Documentary 3. He’s also set to appear on Verzuz, facing off against fellow Compton rapper, YG.
