After a couple years of speculation and fan theories, FX has officially announced their new drama series ‘Snowfall: The Drop’ an official spinoff to the classic Snowfall series. With most of the original cast gone, the new Snowfall cast, will have to do a lot of heavy lifting to get fans back in their good graces, considering that the original series ended 3 years ago with “The Struggle” episode back in April 2023.
The new story will be focus on life after the original series. It’s the 1990’s in Los Angeles, after the downfall of Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) in part because of the work of CIA agent Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson) taking the $73 million net worth he built up from his drug empire throughout the 80s. His uncle Jerome is dead. His aunt Louie is on the run, as far as we know. And the city is on fire with gangs and drugs still. Remaining survivors Wanda Bell (Gail Bean) and Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) are figuring out life as a couple, doing their best to avoid the Bloods and Crips, while Wanda begins focusing on the music scene.
The series will have 8 episodes for their first season, making its premiere on September 8, 2026.
The cast also includes Mykelti Williamson, Nicki Micheaux, Brandon Mychal Smith, Isidora Goreshter, Eric Balfour, Richard Portnow, Zaire Adams, Demetrius Grosse and Snowfall alum Quincy Chad.
