Sidney Starr denies child abuse in a newly released statement.
In case you missed it, on Monday, Aug. 3, reports of Starr’s arrest made their early-morning news rounds, citing that the reality TV personality had been detained on shocking claims of sexual misconduct against a minor. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Starr (also referred to as Favors) was charged with sexual battery against child under 16, aggravated child molestation, and sodomy after an alarming situation (allegedly) took place at a Georgia hotel.
Although specifics regarding the incident are limited, Starr was rumored to have been with an underage individual at the Embassy Suites in Hapeville. At this time, it’s unclear what (exactly) transpired, even though the streets are talking. A taping of the 37-year-old leaving the establishment surfaced online, where a woman is heard yelling, “They got Sidney Starr, y’all! Sexually assaulting a f*cking thirteen-year-old at a hotel!”
Atlanta News First provided that the warrants allegedly mentioned a confession from Starr, admitting to giving the boy oral sex and claiming it was consensual. However, authorities have yet to confirm that and announced no further information about the juvenile’s age or gender would be revealed. A second video, posted by The Hollywood Groupchat, showed the on-scene officers speaking to (what seemed to be) the loved ones of the teen. “This type of investigation usually is not resolved quickly, and I know that it’s stressful, and I’m sorry that this has interrupted y’all’s life. I’m interested in doing it thoroughly so that justice can be served properly,” the policeman said.

Starr is under investigation by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. She has since issued a statement to TMZ, in which she expressed she “unequivocally denies the allegations against her and intends to vigorously defend herself through the legal process.” Starr expanded with, “Allegations should not be mistaken for fact, and public opinion should never replace due process.”
Elsewhere in the press note, the outlet outlined, “Sidney also says the case should not be viewed as a reflection of the transgender community,” adding, “Stressing one person’s alleged actions should never be used to judge or stigmatize an entire group.”
Starr’s mother, Stephanie Favors, is standing by her daughter amid the chaos, as she described the claims as “completely out of [her] character” and doesn’t believe Starr would “engage in sexual activity with a minor.”
