Chris Brown took to his social media to reveal that there was a plan for him to have a surprise Michael Jackson tribute at this year’s American Music Awards.  Unfortunately, his post also revealed that the Chris Brown Michael Jackson tribute performance at the AMAs had been cancelled and that he had not been given a reason why.

Breezy shared a seven minute long video of the rehearsal video from the performance of his tribute along with the caption: U SERIOUS? ?‍♂️

In the comments he revealed more details:

WOULDVE been the ama performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown. ??‍♂️

The songs featured in the video Breezy shared include “Beat It,” “Billie Jean,” “Wanna Be Starting Something” and “Thriller.”

The American Music Awards are set to air on Sunday November 20th on ABC.  As of this writing neither they or ABC have explained why Chris Brown’s performance was cancelled.  While Brown is a controversial figure, they knew this when they asked him to prepare for this performance and he hasn’t done anything that might raise eyebrows in the last week or so.

Other artists have expressed their disappointment in the AMAs for their decision and lack of explanation, including singer Tank, who posted a video of his own.
