CBD oil is a common product on the CBD market and among users. It provides quick relief for pain, anxiety, and inflammation, among other conditions to support overall body and mind health. However, it is vital to know the CBD oil dosage suitable for you. The FDA is yet to regulate CBD products, and there are no universal dosages to follow. Nonetheless, CBD experts provide helpful guidelines to help users consume CBD oil appropriately using the right doses. Below is a guide on CBD oil dosing to shed light on the topic.

CBD Oil Dosage: Figuring out the Purpose

CBD is a recent wellness product, and more research is needed regarding its health benefits and usage. However, preliminary studies show that CBD can alleviate various symptoms, including chronic pain, arthritis pain, anxiety, stress, depression, and insomnia. The CBD market offers a variety of products, and CBD oil is among the popular options. Knowing the right dose to use is vital. Establishing the correct amount for you requires some experimentation and patience with your body.

Using the right CBD oil dosage is beneficial. For starters, you give your body a chance to respond accordingly to CBD oil. A low dosage might not be effective, but you should not start with a very high dose either. Besides, dosages vary depending on factors such as an individual’s body chemistry, body weight, and the severity of a health condition. Additionally, using the correct dose prevents wastage. You get to consume a specific amount instead of ingesting much CBD oil when a small quantity could be helpful.

That aside, knowing how to use CBD oil for pain or any other relative conditions efficiently is vital. The best way to consume the product is sublingually. You administer a few drops under your tongue and wait for 60 seconds before swallowing. The formulation moves quickly into your bloodstream through the many capillaries in your mouth to provide relief.

How Much Should You Take?

There is no constant CBD oil dosage for users to follow. However, if you have never used CBD oil before, begin with 10-20mg per day. Split the quantity into two and use one in the morning and the other in the evening. However, if you are in severe pain, you might need a higher dosage such as 40mg per day. Use the starting dose for a week and gauge how your body responds, noting down your progress.

If you do not experience any changes in your symptoms, gradually increase the dosage in 5mg increments to get an effective quantity for your condition. Our body’s react differently to wellness products like CBD. A dosage that works for you may not work for someone else and vice versa is true. Therefore, be patient with your body and start slow, increasing the dosage slowly if need be.

Nevertheless, more research is needed about CBD dosage. Anecdotal studies show dose variation depending on the health condition. While some conditions require more CBD, some need lower amounts for relief. Besides, body weight also matters. Users with more bodyweight need more CBD than those with less weight.

You can use CBD dosage calculators available online to help you know how much CBD to use. They provide a CBD dosage chart that displays the dose to use depending on body weight.

However, if you are on medication or have a health condition, speak to your doctor before using CBD. The physician should have adequate knowledge of CBD to help you establish what dose to use for your condition. Besides, CBD interacts with some medications, and a doctor will tell you if you can use your prescription drugs with CBD or not.

The bottom line here is that you should start using CBD oil at a low dose. You can increase it gradually if need be to get the benefits of CBD. If you have been using CBD oil for a while and found the right dose for you, you might increase it for severe symptoms. Nevertheless, if you are on medication or have a medical condition, consult a doctor before using CBD oil.

Why It’s Important to Start Low

Starting low when using CBD oil is essential. You get to introduce the product to your body gently instead of using a high dosage from the start. A low dosage helps you determine if less CBD is effective for you before increasing the quantity. If a lower dosage works for you, you get more servings out of a CBD oil bottle. You also save money, so you do not have to buy CBD frequently or in large quantities.

Is There Any Risk Involved with High Dosage?

There is no risk involved in taking a high CBD oil dosage. Completed studies show CBD to be safe even when taken in high doses of up to 1500mg per day. However, this does not mean that you consume CBD oil in whatever amount you need. Start slow and stay consistent to enhance the chances of getting CBD’s relief.

If you need to increase the dose, do it gradually. Why take 100mg of CBD per day when 50mg provides the relief you need? Nevertheless, the effects of long-term CBD use are not known, so more research is needed in this area.

Possible Side Affects You Should Know

High-quality CBD oil is safe and does not pose health risks. However, few side effects have been reported from CBD use in general. They are rare and include diarrhea, drowsiness, fatigue, and changes in weight and appetite.

Liver damage has been linked to CBD, but there is no substantial evidence, calling for more studies. Nonetheless, most users tolerate CBD and do not experience any problems when using it.

Ensure you buy high-grade, organic, third-party tested CBD oil to protect your health. Synthetic CBD is harmful to your body and can cause adverse side effects.

Final Thoughts

CBD oil is beneficial when used in the right dosage. Effective doses vary from person to person, and identifying what works for you might take a few weeks. With the above guide, you should have an easier time establishing the right dosage for you. If you are on medication or have a health condition, consult a doctor before using CBD oil to know if you should use the product and in what dose.
