Cupcakes. Sandwiches. Spiked Orange Juice. Hot Water. Sugar. No Tea!! Singer-Songwriter Chrisette Michele threw a tea party for the release of her album “Let Freedom Reign” and for her fans. The tea eventually came and so did the crooning singer. On a rainy NYC morning media and press packed the entrance of Bond Street Studios anxiously awaiting the New York native singer. Tables were covered with teacups, cupcakes with red, white and blue frosting and sprinkles.
Over the speakers and the crowd, songs from the recent released album blared. Ms. Michele’s mother was the life of the party. She cracked jokes with the photographers and the crowd while the singer was more subdued and just took in the scene. Miguel Perdomo, the male lead in her video “I’m A Star” and a few others attended the event and mingled with the fans. The album cover was the admission for all of Chrisette Michele’s fans to attend.
“Let Freedom Reign” is Michele’s third studio album and a month ago she released a mixtape along with her brother Lem Payne called, “Love Thy Brother.”
