Mariah Carey has had a tough couple of years. First she injured her shoulder, dislocating it while shooting the video for the remix to the single, “#Beautiful.” The video was never released and the often delayed album, Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse was a dud when it was finally released in 2014.  In fact, the album was her worst commercial release in her 25 year career.  Amidst it all she has seen her marriage crumble and it continues to get nasty as just this week it came out that former husband Nick Cannon was suing her. Still, for Carey there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Carey has reunited with producer and legend, L.A. Reid who helped orchestrate her now classic album, The Emancipation of Mimi. After Reid left Island Def Jam, the label and Carey just couldn’t seem to get a win.

Reid, now at Epic Records can be the force behind reengineering a successful Mariah Carey album. Carey will release a greatest hits album to help support her new Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace titled, “#1’s.”  The duo is also already working on new material. We’re Sure Mariah has no shortage of material to work with.
