The long awaited reunited album from A Tribe Called Quest is almost here. Q-Tip made the announcement tonight with a handwritten note he posted on Facebook detailing when the crew got back in the studio and how the new new ATCQ album came together.
When the group reunited last November to perform live on the The Jimmy Fallon Show for the first time in fifteen years, fans new something good was going to come of it. But when Phife Dawg suddenly passed this past March, fans were once again in limbo as to whether they would ever get a new ATCQ album.
After months of silence and obvious mourning, Q-Tip’s letter brings news music aficionados have been waiting on for years.
The new album from A Tribe Called Quest will be the group’s final album, but it will feature all four members of the group along with Busta Rhymes and Consequence. The new ATCQ album hits stores on November 11th, nearly a year to the date of the group reuniting for their Jimmy Fallon performance. The album will be released via Epic Records.
The personal Q-Tip letter reads of the album:
It was coming together nicely and as you may know we lost our BROTHER may God REST HIS SOUL on March 22nd..
