Lamar Odom Reality Show Set For Next Year
A Lamar Odom reality show is in the works, set to bring the former NBA player and ex-husband of Khloé Kardashian back to our TV screens—this time, without the Kardashians. If you’ve been following Odom’s career for a while, it’s definitely agreeable that the retired basketball star has endured a lot over the recent years. From his troubled marriage with Khloé Kardashian to his spat with drug abuse, which led him to a life-threatening situation, Odom has suffered great tribulations throughout the last five years. However, after finalizing his divorce from Khloé Kardashian, and seeking professional help for his addiction, Odom is ready to turn his trials into triumphs, sharing his story with the world.
According to People Magazine, the 37-year-old is currently in the process of filming his own reality TV show, set to premiere in 2017. The docu-series will chronicle Odom’s everyday life, behind the scenes, as well as his road to recovery. “The show will be about his life, recovery—all about him,” a source told People.
They also reported that Odom checked into a rehabilitation center last week, nearly a year since he was found unconscious from a drug overdose. Odom plans to stay a total of thirty days at the substance abuse program. However, while he was not using any form of drugs when he went in and is a clean man, Odom’s decision to check himself in was based solely on further self-improvement and ‘precautionary measures’.
“He wants to stay clear and focused. With the divorce from Khloé being finalized and the holidays coming up, he doesn’t want to slip up. He’s trying to take care of himself. He really wants to be better,” The insider said. “His friends and family encouraged him to go in and he agreed and made the decision.”
While striving to improve his physical and mental health, Odom is also working on releasing a book in the near future. He’s been spending these last few weeks prepping for the holidays and enjoying the love and support from his family.
