Joey Bada$$ Has A Message For America On Politically Charged “Land of the Free”

Like many rappers, Joey Bada$$ isn’t a fan of Donald Trump. We’ve already gotten a number of anti-Trump anthems and we’re probably going to be getting a whole lot more as the months and years go on. Since today is his Inauguration Day, Joey decided to release a politically-charged track called “Land of the Free.” But the song isn’t just anti-Trump, it also gives a pretty scathing critique of the country as a whole.

The cover art for the single features Joey Bada$$ wearing a shirt that says “Make Amerikkka Suck Again,” which really drives the point home. Over this smooth production, co-produced by Adam Pallin & Kirk Knight, Joey isn’t carrying rage or anger, but confidence. Mentioning the fact that many black people in America carry the last names of their slave owners.

Sorry America, but I will not be your soldier/Obama just wasn’t enough, I just need some more closure/And Donald Trump is not equipped to take this country over/Let’s face facts.”

In addition to this new track, Joey Bada$$ is also putting in work on his sophomore follow up to B4.Da.$$, titled AABA, which should be coming soon.
