August Alsina Lonely Visual Revealed
It’s been a busy start of the year for August Alsina, and he’s not done yet. The 24-year-old is back with yet another striking video, titled, “Lonely”. Coming off of his forthcoming third album, Drugs, the three-minute song offers a modern R&B twist on Bobby Womack’s 1982 single, “If You Think You’re Lonely Now”. Watch the video for August Alsina Lonely below.
Alsina originally released the song last month, following the release of his recent singles, “Drugs” and “Wait”. However, the singer has officially put a visual to those words. Let’s just say, he definitely surpassed any prior expectations you may have had for the visual.
While the previously released songs from the upcoming Drugs album may have showcased Alsina’s vulnerability, the New Orleans crooner is laying down the law this time around, making it clear that he’s not about the games. “Baby, tell me what’s good? Lately, you ain’t been acting like you should; I’ve been caught up lately. Just be careful with your words; all that arguing sh*t is for the birds (for the birds). You ain’t gotta go crazy. When I call your phone tonight, I better not have to call twice, girl. ‘Cause you be playing games; time don’t lie,” he sings.
The video opens with Alsina walking in a red lit area to use an outdoor payphone, switching back and forth between a grocery store scene. As the song progresses, it shows Alsina dancing and singing in the middle of the store aisle—emphasizing Alsina’s face plastered on the cereal boxes visiting the shelves. Adding a sense of fun and creativity, he includes a combination of dancers–young and old. We must say, we are definitely digging the new August Alsina era.
