Birdman Announces Release Date For Forthcoming Cash Money Documentary
We first learned that there would be a Cash Money Records biopic of some sorts back in April of last year. During a guest speaking engagement, brothers, Birdman and Ronald ‘Slim’ Williams (co-owners of Cash Money Records) announced that a script for a Cash Money Records biopic was in motion. However, a few months later, it was reported that Birdman actually has a documentary of his own on the way. While this project doesn’t seem to be in any relation with the biopic, we will say that it’s going to be interesting to get an in-depth look at how it all started. Maybe we’ll still get a biopic film? We’re not so sure. But, the good thing is, we finally have a date for this Cash Money documentary.
Back in August, the CM mogul inked a deal with Apple Music, leaving people to speculate just what he had up his sleeve. Turns out, the deal was for his upcoming documentary, Before Anythang: The Story Behind the Cash Money Record Empire. The documentary film, directed and executive produced by Clifton Bell and Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams and Ronald ‘Slim’ Williams, is set to premiere on May 12th through Apple Music’s streaming service. Before Anythang: The Story Behind the Cash Money Record Empire will depict Birdman’s early years and his rise to becoming a powerhouse entrepreneur and musical genius.
However, this isn’t the last you’ll see of Mr. Williams. In an interview with XXL, he said he plans to venture off into doing other films. Would you watch?
