Ed Sheeran Takes On Music One ‘Operation’ At A Time

Edward Christopher Sheeran is a red haired, British singer – songwriter, beatboxer, and guitarist with an amazing blend of acoustic, pop, folk, and Hip-Hop music, whose indie style and pleasant sounding vocal melody has won the hearts of millions worldwide!!! Born in Hebrew Bridge, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framingham Suffolk in the United Kingdom on February 17, 1991 Ed Sheeran started playing guitar at an early age, all the while showing promise of musical talent!!!

When Ed Sheeran was only 11 years old he met Irish singer/songwriter, musician, and record producer Damien Rice.  Rice inspired him and advised him to start writing his own songs, and that left a lasting impression on young Sheeran!!! Immediately Ed Sheeran took his advice and began creating his own songs!!!

Ed released his first EP, The Orange Room while he was still in high school. His first two albums–a self titled debut and Want Some were released by age 16,  after he moved to London to gain more experience!!! Sheeran’s performance of the song “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You”, which he also wrote on the YouTube channel SB.TV gained half million views and attracted the attention of actor/R&B singer Jamie Foxx, who invited Sheeran to appear on his Los Angeles Sirius radio show.

Ed Sheeran would go on to support Foxx, the singer, songwriter, and record producer on his UK tour.  After securing a deal with Elton John’s management company, Ed Sheeran signed with Atlantic Records, and became the 3rd artist to score a top 75 album on just download sales!!! Sheeran’s project impressed Jamie Foxx and Elton John among countless others. His mainstream debut album, + (read as “plus”), was released on September 9, 2011 by Asylum Records and Atlantic Records.  The album marked his commercial breakthrough, even though he had previously released 5 EPS independently!!!

He followed that up with his greatest effort yet, x (read as “multiply”), released in 2014, an album helped make Ed Sheeran a household name.

Now at age 26, Ed has several Grammys and countless other awards that he received internationally for many of his songs, performances, and for the talented artist that he has become.  Additionally, Sheeran has created songs for many other artists, collaborating with The Weeknd, and working with Taylor Swift on her album, Red.

Ed Sheeran has also released a book entitled: Ed Sheeran: A Visual Journey!!! Highlights from his book suggested that he had been homeless from 2008 until 2010. Sheeran spoke to the media saying that him sleeping outside Buckingham Palace, on the Central Line, and from couch to couch at different friends houses was not him being homeless; however it was him gaining experience that made him a better artist!!!

At just 26 years old, Ed Sheeran has accomplished more than many artists have in a lifetime.
Sheeran’s new album ÷ (Divide) was released on Friday, March 3rd.  After all his previous accomplishments Sheeran’s fans worldwide are waiting to see what comes next.  If you’re looking for great music or if you’re just a collector Sheeran’s newest album is an absolute must have.  And if you’re not a fan, I’m sure you will be after listening to his music!!!
