The Wale Shine Album Has A Release Date

Wale has been promoting his forthcoming SHINE album for almost a year, but now he finally has some concrete plans for the project. The follow-up to 2015’s The Album About Nothing, the Wale SHINE album will be Folarin’s 5th solo project.  It hits stores on May 5th.

SHINE was set to be released before the end of 2016, but the project was pushed back to the top of this year. It was pushed back yet again to focus on the Rick Ross Rather You Than Me album, which was released back in March.

Wale’s lead single from the project, “My PYT” was released back in July. The colorful visual was also released:

In March, Wale released his mixtape, Before I Shine, a project featuring a number of tracks Wale has released in the last few months, many of which could have been tracks on the SHINE album as well.  “Groundhog Day”, “Heisman Watch” and  his Black Woman’s anthem “Black Is Gold” were among the tracks on the project.
Additionally, this year, Wale has revealed the visual for his “Running Back” single with Lil Wayne. In spite of the Lil Wayne feature the track has under-performed:
