Tyrese Says There Is A Baby Boy Sequel In The Works
The Jody and Yvette chronicles continue. Actor Tyrese Gibson just recently announced that there would be a Baby Boy sequel.
Directed, written, and produced by John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood, Poetic Justice), Baby Boy followed 20-year-old Joseph ‘Jody’ Summers (Gibson) and his life as a young Black male in the streets of Los Angeles, California. Taraji P. Henson also starred alongside Gibson, portraying the role of Jody’s girlfriend/baby’s mother, Yvette. Gibson and Henson both made their big screen debut, creating classic characters that many still quote from today.
Garnering over twenty-nine million dollars, as a whole, the 2001 blockbuster film was an instant success. Sixteen years later, the film still maintains its weight, being recognized as a timeless classic that we’ll always love to see.
We must say, it’ll be interesting to see which direction this forthcoming sequel will go in. As of now, no further details are available, but we’ll be on the lookout!
