Kevin Gates Said To Be Coming Home From Prison on Wednesday
Well, it appears that it’s safe to say that the ‘gates’ may be opening up pretty soon for this “2 Phones” rapper. According to TMZ, Kevin Gates will be released from jail next week, and the fans are going completely berserk.
In October of 2016, the 31-year-old was initially charged with misdemeanor battery and sentenced to six months behind bars after kicking a woman in the chest at one of his concerts in Florida. However, at the end of his six-month jail stint, in April of last year, Gates was hit with a weapons charge, which has kept him in lockup for an additional nine months.
He was originally supposed to be serving a thirty-month sentence for the newly-pinned charge, but it seems that Gates’ bags are semi-packed because he’ll be heading home on Wednesday, January 10th, TMZ reports.
The outlet got word from an employee over at Illinois Department of Correction that Gates would be getting out on parole, and “his release conditions include mandatory supervision and no possession of firearms.”
It’s a happy day for Mr. Gates, and, of course, his family. At least, let’s just hope he makes it home for real this time…
