Legendary Entertainer Mary J. Blige Will Receive Her Own Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame

When we think of musical icons and staples, one artist always comes to mind. The Queen herself, Mary J. Blige.

Blige has been giving raw emotion and captivating performances since she debuted in 1992 with “What’s the 411?”. At the time, she was the youngest and first female artist of Uptown Records.

With thirty-one nominations and nine Grammy wins for her inevitable talent, Blige recently garnered much praise for her acting career, receiving not only the Golden Globe and SAG Awards, but also Critics’ Choice Award nominations for her role in “Mudbound,” as well as a Golden Globe nomination for ‘Best Original Song’ for “Mighty River.” Come through, Queen Mary!

However, that doesn’t compare to what 2018 has already brought the famed singer-actress. Blige was recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Reportedly, Sean “Diddy” Combs will join Hollywood Chamber president and CEO Leron Gubler to unveil the star on January 11th, which is also her 47th birthday.

“Mary J. Blige is one of the most popular singers of our generation. Fans will be thrilled to see her star on the boulevard, as her career milestones are celebrated on this very famous sidewalk,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

Y’all didn’t think we’d get too far into the new year without reminding you of the authenticity of black magic, did you?

Congratulations, Mary!
