Would You Watch a Donald Trump Biopic?
Before he was proclaimed one of the most hated men in America, aka “Agent Orange,” Donald Trump was actually a successful businessman, entrepreneur, and real estate mogul, spearheading a number of lucrative, Trump-owned enterprises. According to The Washington Times, Gidden Media will be bringing that to the forefront in their latest producing project, The Apprentice.
Reportedly, the forthcoming Donald Trump biopic film will chronicle “a young Donald Trump” and his rise to becoming a self-made millionaire. Renowned journalist Gabriel Sherman–author of former Fox News chief Roger Ailes’ biography, “The Loudest Voice in the Room,” is set to write the official screenplay.
“As a journalist, I’ve reported on Donald Trump for more than fifteen years,” Sherman said in a recent statement. “I’ve long been fascinated by his origin story as a young builder coming up in the gritty world of nineteen-seventies, eighties’ New York. This formative period tells us so much about the man who today occupies the oval office.”
Born Donald John Trump, if you don’t know, the 71-year-old, now known as the President of the United States, is the man behind the notorious Trump Organization, which is a conglomerate of nearly five hundred business entities, including everything from hotels and residential towers to resorts and golf courses. The empire was originally founded in 1923 by Trump’s grandmother and father but later taken over by Trump and his sons.
Through The Apprentice, viewers will have the first-hand opportunity to gain insight on how Trump went from a little boy from the borough of Queens to a leading business magnate.
“[Gabriel] is an extraordinary storyteller as well as an impeccable journalist,” boasted Gidden Media founder Amy Baer. “The timeliness of this subject, combined with his professional pedigree and integrity, makes this a rare alignment of talent and subject.”
Currently, there is no word on casting or a release date for the Donald Trump biopic.
