New Show “REL“, Starring Lil Rel Milton ‘Lil Rel’ Howery Ordered To Series On FOX

If you were a fan of the Carmichael show, which aired on NBC or watched Jordan Peele’s movie ‘Get Out then you should more than likely be familiar with Lil Rel. He played Robert Carmichael aka “Bobby” on The Carmichael Show and TSA officer Rod Williams in ‘Get Out’. Lil Rel whose real name is Milton Howery has taken on a new venture in a TV show which is ordered to series at FOX titled, “REL”.

The show which is written and executive produced by Josh Rabinowitz, Kevin Barnett, and Milton Howery will also have Jarrod Carmichael as executive producer alongside Mike Scully. Lil Rel who will portray himself in the show as he gives us a taste of his real life. We can expect to see a cast consisting of Sinbad (A Different World) who will play Rel’s dad, Jess “Hilarious” Moore (Wild ‘N Out) as Brittany as well as Jordan L. Jones (Disjointed) who will play Nat.

 

The show will display Lil Rel, a prideful, self-made success, who lives by the code to “always believe in yourself and great things will come,” finds that attitude put to the test when he learns his wife is having an affair with his own barber. He tries to rebuild his life post-divorce as a long-distance single father on the South Side of Chicago who’s on a quest for love, respect… and a new barber.  The series is Inspired by Lil Rel’s real life.

Lil Rel has appeared on BET’s “Comic View”, TV One’s “Bill Bellamy’s: Who Got Jokes” and HBO’s “Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy,” but he really garnered national attention when he appeared on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”.
