Rapper Tyga may not be living in ‘rack city’ for too much longer.
In court documents obtained by The Blast, the 28-year-old was sued after allegedly ghosting his responsibility to pay up on the 2014 Land Rover that he leased from a company called Midway HFCA.
The lawsuit states that following the leasing, Tyga later drove the vehicle to Final Touch Collision for repairs and never came back to pick it up. Eventually, Midway took legal action and filed fraud claims against the Compton-made rapper after he failed to adhere to the terms of the agreement.
The deal was originally for Tyga to dish out $3,998 for thirty-six months, which would’ve permitted him the option to then buy the Rover, but it is said that he made several payments then stopped… cold turkey. At the time, he was over $22,000 behind.
Midway demanded in excess of $202,739 in damages from Tyga for not returning the car to them. However, the case has been going on for months, and he has not even bothered to show up for court.
He isn’t off of the hook just yet, though. In late June, the judge granted a default judgment to Midway against Tyga, and the amount of it was $141,000 in damages. But, with interest and legal fees, the total actually came to $157,152.60.
Compared to the $1.4 million he was reportedly being sued for, after bailing on a club appearance in Dubai, last month, this is basically chump change.
In other news, he doesn’t seem to be worried about either of the lawsuits too much. Just three days ago, he was seen in the Dominican Republic… living it up.
We’re hoping that Tyga gets it together. At least for the sake of his bank accounts.
