Following all of the recent Black Panther ballyhoo, the film’s leading actor, Chadwick Boseman, has landed himself a new action-thriller, titled, 17 Bridges.
According to Variety, the Get on Up star will take on the role of a disgraced NYPD detective who, after being plunged into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, is given a shot at redemption.
Helmed by STXfilms, the project is said to be kicking off in September, and Boseman, along with his writing and producing partner, Logan Coles, are set to produce. Agbo’s Joe and Anthony Russo also hold production credits (Avengers: Infinity War), with Mike Larocca executive producing and Game of Thrones’ Brian Kirk directing.
“Chadwick Boseman’s razor-sharp instincts and undeniable charisma captivated millions of people around the world in Black Panther, and Joe and Anthony Russo have breathed a new energy into the action genre with films like Avengers: Infinity War,” STXfilms chairman Adam Fogelson told the publication. “Their unique and intelligent approach to film-making is anything but formulaic, and with Brian Kirk at the helm directing, this film promises to go beyond the typical popcorn fare.”
