Rapper Cardi B Thinks the Barbz May Have Escalated the Leaking of Her New Single, “Money”
It’s no secret that the Barbz will stop at nothing to come ten times harder for any rivalry of their darling Nicki, and it appears that they haven’t let up off of Cardi B yet.
There’s been a boiling beef between Nicki and Cardi for some time now, which ultimately ended in a brawl at a New York Fashion Week event last month. While some believe the battle between the two began due to the fact that Cardi’s career has catapulted to the top–a spot that Nicki has claimed for years–others are sure that the fans had a lot to do with turning the potential friends into foes.
Lately, that has been proven even more, more recently with the sudden leak of Cardi B’s new single, “Money.”
Now, if you follow the “Bodak Yellow” rapper on social media, we’re assuming that you caught her announcement on Instagram earlier in the week, when she surprised us with a release date for her single, “Money.” It was originally set to debut on Thursday, October 25th, but coincidentally, not even 24 hours after she announced it, the song hit the internet and surfaced throughout a variety of Nicki Minaj fan accounts.
As a result, Cardi was forced to officially put out the track two days early.
The 26-year-old took to Instagram Live to speak on the matter. She indicated that she suspected the blame for the leak being the music platforms and, in part, the Barbz.
“Music platforms, someone from their building is leaking everything. They tried to retract it, but you know the Barbz,” she explained. “They’re always posting me. They always post everything I do. They claim they hate me, but they really love me because they be on my page before my fans. Everything that I do, they be on it before my fans. So, clearly, that seems like love to me.”
We’re not sure 100% sure who was behind the leaking of the record, but obviously, it didn’t ruin anything.
For #BardiGang, it was more like an early Christmas present.
