Produced by Hollywood’s blockbuster hit maker, Will Packer, highly anticipated series “Ready to Love” premiered on OWN on October 23rd. Will Packer is the man behind the films Girls Trip and Ride Along. “Ready to Love” is hosted by Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles, follows eight men and twelve women as they navigate the dating scene in a quest for true love.
Dating in this era is almost a monotonous toil, especially for those eager to settle down and achieve their own #relationshipgoals. In the illustrious city of Atlanta, dating woes seem to multiply with a staggering 80,000 more single women than men in the bustling metro area.
For a sixteen successful and prominent, black middle aged daters, the game is about to change when they go beyond normal measures to try their hand at dating and finding genuine connections through reality television dating.
Unlike other dating shows, “Ready to Love” comes packed with a new, unexpected twist. The unscripted show, mimics the “Think Like A Man” spate (also produced by Packer) by honing in on what men think and feel through candid conversations among themselves and with host, Nephew Tommy, about their observations and experiences in courtship. Although there are more women than men casted, it is unsure if the additional women will be sent packing elimination style or if they will be the ones sending the men to the left. Either way, we can already see the sparks flying (and some tension) between several castmates and look forward to the season and hopefully, real love.
“Ready to Love” joins the network’s Saturday lineup of shows centered around love and relationships including “Chad Loves Michelle”, “Family or Fiance” and “ Rocket City Revival”
Both this and his new drama “Ambitions” are the first shows to come out of Packer’s first-look deal with OWN, as part of OWN parent Discovery Communications’ investment in Will Packer Media, launched in 2017.
