Rihanna doesn’t play about her name, even when it comes to family.
The storied singer-songwriter has reportedly filed a lawsuit against her father, which is allegedly due to him using her Fenty brand to benefit his own business endeavors.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Ronald Fenty recently opened a talent agency, called Fenty Entertainment. However, in 2014, Rihanna trademarked her last name, also Fenty, for an array of products; her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty, was subsequently trademarked as well.
So, RiRi felt as though Mr. Fenty was going against the grain a little bit, prompting her to send out numerous cease and desist letters that ordered him to stop the clout chase. But he’s still going at it and continuing to make that mula off of his company.
As a result, his daughter is asking for an injunction to be placed on his corporation and damages.
We hope that the Fentys can come to a solution.
