10 Women in Hip-Hop You Should Give A Listen To In 2019

1. Saweetie

Saweetie is from Heyward, California and she got her deal with Warner Bros. after she did “Icy Girl”, which was a freestyle to “My Neck, My Back” by Khia. She made sure to capitalize on the opportunity by dropping a mixtape titled, High Maintenance.

Last year Saweetie made a few more noticeable dope records like “Up Now” featuring G-Eazy and Rich the Kid, and “Pissed”. Saweetie has also made her presence felt on tracks by other artists like David Guetta’s “I’m That Bitch,” and Quavo of Migos “Give It To Em” just to name a couple.

Saweetie has put the game on notice in these last couple of years and I believe as long as she keeps going she will have a successful career. She’s just getting started at age 25.

I felt really good making Saweetie my number 1 female artist to look out for because she is a dope lyricist and has shown signs of being an incredible song maker.
