Filmmaker John Singleton Suffers A Stroke, In Intensive Care

Oscar nominated writer and director John Singleton, 51, has been battling a health scare over the last week. John Singleton is currently in the intensive care unit after suffering a stroke this past week.

Singleton is the director of “Boyz n the Hood” and “Baby Boy” among other films. He also is the producer and creator for the FX series ‘Snowfall’. On Wednesday John Singleton suffered a stroke while already in the hospital for an unrelated illness.

The family of John Singleton released a statement about his health. “John is currently in ICU and under great medical care. We ask that privacy be given to him and our family at this time and appreciate all the prayers that have been pouring in from fans, friends and colleagues,” the statement read.
