Even the saints have secrets, and TV One will be the one to reveal them. On Sunday, July 7th, the popular network is set to kick off their month-long LOVE, LIES, & MURDER film series, with the anticipated premiere of Sins of the Father.

Written by Katrina O’Gilvie, the Jamal-Hill-directed production follows Detectives Phylicia Richardson and Perez as they probe the brutal murder of Pastor Clarence Burnett’s wife, Karen.

After being gunned down outside of her Atlanta home, the callous crime brings the city under a cloud of controversy, and no one is exempt from feeling the wrath. Convinced that there is more to the story than what meets the eye, the police began scratching beneath the surface in hopes of cracking the case.

The Burnetts’ inner circle happens to be what they set their sights on, including the pastor’s son, Robert Banks.

Sins

As the investigation unravels, the Burnett household does as well. Everything from abuse and adultery to lust and lies is brought out of the pulpit and into the public.

What’s done in the dark will always come to the light, but you just might not be prepared for all of the sins you’re about to see.

“In a culture where #ChurchHurt has been the trending topic, this film will give the viewer insight on how wolves in sheep’s clothing operate,” gospel singer and lead cast member Deitrick Haddon expressed. “Buckle your seat belt because it’s about to get real!”

Starring alongside Haddon, who plays Pastor Clarence Burnett, will be A.J. Johnson (as Detective Phylicia Richardson), Clifton Powell (as Deacon Kevin Williams), Terayle Hill (as Robert Banks), Angela Davis (as First Lady Karen Burnett), Danny Pardo (as Detective Perez), and Angela Love (as Chevelle).

Produced by Swirl Films, Leah Daniels-Butler and George Pierre serve as casting directors, with Eric Tomosunas as executive producer. Keith Neal, James Seppelfrick, Ron Robinson and Darien Baldwin also a part of the producing team.

TV One’s LOVE, LIES, & MURDER films, which will air every Sunday in July, is inspired by TV One’s true crime programming.
