Joell Ortiz just gives you a feeling that classic golden era Hip-Hop still gives. So, Hip-Hop aficionados are always excited for a new project from the Brooklyn bred rapper.  The new Joell Ortiz Monday album was released on August 30th by Mello Music Group. The project is his follow-up up offering to the Mona Lisa collaboration LP, which teamed him up with Apollo Brown.

The lead single from the Joell Ortiz Monday album was “Learn You,” and ode to his two sons. The song is produced by Big K.R.I.T. Joell Ortiz said of collaborating K.R.I.T, “Working with K.R.I.T. was super dope! We basically had long conversations over the phone about life and human things for about a week or so before we even talked about music. Just Vibing. “Learn You” was basically one of those convos turned audio. We talked about how the sacrifices we make to chase dreams are heavy. His production and choice of words in that hook made me tell my sons I’m sorry for the first time in my life.”

Joell has already released his second single from the project, a Heatmakerz produced banger titled, “Champion.” It gave me chills first listen.
