The Favorite Son, Based on a Novel by Award-Winning Author Tiffany L. Warren airs This May

BET+ will premiere a brand new film this month titled, The Favorite Son. The film is based on award-winning author Tiffany L. Warren’s novel “The Favorite Son”, released on Kensington Books. The film is directed by Robin Givens (Riverdale) and is set to premiere on Thursday, May 6, 2021.

The Favorite Son will take viewers through the lives of two brothers Blain and Camden, who are committed to being in a gospel group while still battling to find a balance between life, love, faith, and religion. The brothers must find a way to do this while simultaneously trying to abide by the strict rules of their father who is a reverend of a megachurch.

The role of Blain is being played by Rotimi who is well known for his role as Dre in Power, and the role of Camden is played by Grammy award-winning musician Jonathan McReynolds. Also featured in the film are E. Roger Mitchell (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) who is playing Pastor B.C Wilson, Serayah (Empire) who is taking on the role of Dawn, and Loren Lott (Cherish the Day) will star as Amber.

Viewers can also expect to see additional appearances from singer Keke Wyatt, Anthony Evans Jr., Anton Peeples, Lisa Arindell, and Walnette Santiago.
