Eminem has been nominated for The 2022 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame along with the likes of Duran Duran, A Tribe Called Quest & Dolly Parton. Marshall Mathers is now eligible for selection following 1996 album Infinite hitting 25 years since release last November. Despite the project flopping and not selling many copies it qualifies due to it being a major release and being over the 25 year criteria. So for the first time Eminem RockHall votes are being counted.
Fan voting began in February and will last until the end of April. The top 5 artists voted by the public will be tallied with the other ballots to determine the RockHall 2022 inductees.
At present Eminem is sitting in second place with 600K+ votes, English band Duran Duran tops the vote with 740K+. Hip Hop group A Tribe Called Quest sits 13th in the table with 125K votes.
Other Hip Hop artists that have been inducted are as follows, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five (2007), Run-DMC (2009), Beastie Boys (2012), Public Enemy (2013), N.W.A (2016), 2Pac (2017), The Notorious B.I.G (2020), LL COOL J (2021) & Jay-Z (2021).
