A judge refuses to release Gunna from jail. A few weeks ago Young Thug and Gunna were arrested on suspicion of gang involvement and conspiracy to violate the Georgia criminal racketeering law. The case claims that Young Thug used his record label YSL as a front for gang activity. Allegedly YSL is connected to the Bloods gang and YSL artists, including Gunna, are gang members doing Young Thug’s bidding. Lawyers are fighting to release Gunna from jail.
Updates on the Trial
Judge Ural Glanville refused to release Gunna (real name Sergio Kitchens) from jail and set a trial date for January 2023, according to Billboard. Although the judge gave little detail about refusing to release Gunna from jail, he mentioned that he was worried about witness intimidation if Gunna was released on bond.
Although he denied Gunna’s release, Judge Glanville didn’t make a decision on whether Young Thug (real name Jeffery Williams) should be released on bond. Instead, the judge delayed the ruling to focus on deciding whether to rule Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, should be disqualified from the case over a conflict of interest. Once that’s situated, the judge will proceed to focus on Young Thug’s bond and pre-trial release.

Do you think the judge’s reasoning for refusing to release Gunna from jail is justified? Should Young Thug’s attorney be cut from the case? Leave a comment below.
