Just months after the exciting announcement of their renewal, Abbott Elementary season two is currently in the making!
The record-breaking ABC series creator, Quinta Brunson, took to her Twitter account to share a quick update for the fans.
“Ah,” Brunson starts off in the tweet. “Writing the first abbott season 2 script. fuck, I couldn’t be happier.”

Of course, following Brunson’s news, viewers flooded the replies, crying tears of joy and also asking if any role openings were available.
According to a recent interview with Elle, filming for the second season will hopefully kick off in July.
When asked about her plans for Abbott’s sophomore return, the publication wrote:
She has a lot of ideas, as do her co-stars: Brunson wants to take more field trips, literally and figuratively, outside of the Abbott Elementary halls; Ralph wants Barbara to start a choir in the vein of Sister Act 2; Walter wants the crew to travel to a teaching convention, except “they can’t afford an expensive one, so it’s, like, Atlantic City.” Williams hopes for more will-they, won’t-they romance from Gregory and Janine: “[Gregory’s] got to grow a lot before he’s ready for a relationship, period, let alone with Janine. However, we can see, from the outside point of view, how if they do the work, they could really have something special.”
Starring Brunson, alongside Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lisa Ann Walter, and Chris Perfetti, Abbott Elementary, which made its debut in December of 2021, is a mockumentary that centers a quirky group of teachers (and an unconventional principal) at a Philadelphia grade school.
Season one of the show is streamable on Hulu! Catch up before the crew’s “summer break” ends.
