Netflix debuted season one of the new Netflix Original series ‘First Kill’ on Friday June 10, 2022, and Twitter can’t stop talking about it! ‘First Kill’ is a Netflix Original fantasy teen drama written and created by V.E. Schwab. The Original is based on Schwab’s short story of the same name, which was published in Imprint’s Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite. Once Netflix allowed viewers to press play, they went to Twitter to tell how they couldn’t get enough of the new Netflix Original series, ‘First Kill’.

The plot for the series goes as follows: To take her place amongst her powerful vampire family, teenager Juliette is required to make her first kill. When Juliette sets her sights on the new girl in town, Calliope, she bites off more than she can chew when Calliope is revealed to be from a family of esteemed vampire hunters. Both vampire and hunter soon learn the other isn’t so easy to kill, but far too easy to fall for.

Most tweets referencing the new Netflix Original series highlight how much the series is binge-worthy! Mimicking most teen dramas with a vampire plot, this teen drama series is geared more toward the LGBTQIA+ community, in celebration of PRIDE month.

It seems what viewers are here for the most is the lesbian love connection between Juliette and Calliope, and some secondary characters. If you are a fan of Riverdale or Vampire Diaries, this is the LGBTQIA+ version according to viewers!
