Drake’s Team Denies The Rapper Being Arrested in Sweden For Drugs

Representatives from Drake’s camp have come out to shut down rumors suggesting the rapper was arrested in Sweden on Thursday.

Rumors about the “God’s plan” singer and his security being arrested by the Swedish authorities at a nightclub on marijuana charges filled the internet late Thursday night (July 14). Calls for a release, “Free Drake” did not take long before it had Twitter in a chokehold as fans all over the world were swift in response to the quickly circulated and unverified rumor that Drake was arrested in Sweden.

“Never thought I’d see the day that free Drake is trending 😭😭,” said a Twitter user. “fell to my knees in my room, tears are running down my eyes. this is worst than the death of my son i had in 2017. the world will burn if this is true. i am now running covered in blood screaming “ FREE DRAKE” in the streets till the lord hears me,” another Twitter user by the username, @wavierwallen tweeted.

Drake on Wednesday announced his upcoming October World Weekend which is set to take place July 28-Aug 1 in his hometown Toronto. The 3-day experience would feature the likes of Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj. Lil Baby and Chrisbrown. The experience is expected to be followed in 2023 by a traveling version of OVO Fest in honor of its 10th anniversary.
