Nigerian- American beautician, Jackie Aina is under attack on social media for naming one of her collections Sòrò Sókè candles. This collection was launched on August 5 through her lifestyle brand, FORVR MOOD and is available for purchase on Sephora.

The collection features 4 new fragrances: Sòrò Sókè, No Wahala, Soft Life and Spice of Life.

Just when it seemed it could not get any worse, some Nigerians discovered that they could not access the product on the Sephora website.

This led to another series of backlash as they expressed displeasure while demanding an explanation. Most of the collection names took inspiration from Nigerian heritage and culture Nigerians could not access the product on Sephora.

In a promotional video for the collection, Jackie could be seen explaining the meaning of the Yoruba word, and why she went with Sòrò Sókè candles. “Sòrò Sókè in Yoruba meaning speak up. It means to stand for something,” Jackie Aina expressed.

I typically don’t comment on these type of conversations but this made me sick to my stomach!

Not only did they block Nigeria from accessing the site, you’ll have to use VPN. They made this sickening video 🤮 https://t.co/cf2LhveEtV pic.twitter.com/7rBPy9FRRA
