Naomi Ackie stars at the legendary Whitney Houston in the upcoming, I Wanna Dance With Somebody biopic. The movie is set to arrive on December 21st in theaters.
The movie also stars Stanley Tucci, who plays Clive Davis, the founder of Arista Records, who discovered and signed Whitney Houston early in her career.
There have already been several Whitney Houston movies, including Lifetime’s Whitney Houston & Bobby Kristina documentary from a year ago and the Whitney documentary and Lifetime’s 2015 Whitney Houston biopic, Whitney, which starred Yaya DaCosta as Whitney Houston and her music performed by Deborah Cox.

Slated to arrive in theaters December 21st, I Wanna Dance with Somebody was directed by Kasi Lemmons and written by Bohemian Rhapsody’s Anthony McCarten. Clive Davis served as a producer on the film.
