There was some disappointing news for attendants of the Weeknd’s second day Sofi stadium performance. The Weeknd had to cut his show really short after losing his voice while singing on stage.

The “Star boy” singer was in the middle of his second song for the night, ” Cant feel my face” when he lost his voice. He stopped the show and apologized to the audience. He explained that he would refund everyone their money back since he can’t perform.

The Weeknd said

“I can’t give you the concert I want to give you. I’m going to make sure everyone’s good, gets your money back, and I’ll do a show real soon for you guys, but I wanted to come out and personally apologize and not tweet it or Instagram it. I wanted you guys to know that I can’t give you what I want to give you. I apologize. I’m so sorry.”

In response some fans cheered and some fans booed. Later on, The Weeknd posted a message to his fans on Twitter. Once again he explained how he lost his voice and promised to schedule a new date.

This cancellation comes a day after his first Sofi Stadium performance for his “The After Hours Till Dawn Tour”. The first show in Sofi  which held on September 3rd 2022 was met with wide acclaim from both fans and critics. Sadly, unforeseen circumstances marred the second date.

In the past, the Weeknd initially postponed the “After hours, till dawn” tour twice. It was once slated for 2020, but had to be pushed down because of the Covid19 pandemic. Then in 2021,he pushed it down to 2022.

Aside from his tour, The Weeknd has been busy with his television project with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and starring Lily Rose Depp.

The Weeknd was very apologetic and mature about it. We hope he recovers soon with the support he needs.
