Nicki Minaj says she’s not mad, but she sure seems like it.  On Thursday (October 13th) Nicki took to social media to air out frustrations with The Grammys over their decision about her nomination.  Nicki Minaj called out the Grammys after they decided that her latest single, “Super Freaky Girl” was too much of a Pop song to be nominated in the Rap song category.

The announcement came early in the day that “Super Freaky Girl,” Nicki’s sample of the Rick James song would be excluded from the Rap categories for this year’s Grammy nominations.  Nicki submitted the song for the rap categories but the Recording Academy’s rap committee decided the song did not fit the rap category, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The decision is especially jarring considering “Super Freaky Girl” spent eighth week on top of Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart.

Nominees for the 2023 Grammys will be announced on Nov. 15, and the live telecast will air on Feb. 5, 2023, on CBS. Voting for the first round of nominees begins Thursday and ends on Oct. 23.

Nicki Minaj responded with a 17 minute video on Instagram, which she captioned, “Dear Grammys.”

Shortly after she took to Twitter as well. Nicki Minaj called out the Grammys even more with her Tweets.

And maybe unintentionally, while calling out The Grammys, Nicki found herself in the middle of a war of words with Latto, sparked by this tweet:
