Rich The Kid signs with RCA Records?! Well, apparently so. Everyone’s favorite Boss Man is back with a new record deal… and a hit single!
According to reports, the “That’s Tuff” rapper just recently landed a major contract with the powerhouse label, which just so happens to be an entity of Sony Music Entertainment.
“Being signed to RCA is an honor,” Rich the Kid expressed when speaking of the exciting partnership. “And [it’s] also a home for me where I can grow and win for a long time.”
RCA Records is the home of some of today’s most influential figures in music, such as Pink, Usher, Shakira, Doja Cat, Tems, Saucy Santana, SZA, and Jazmine Sullivan, among others.
Amid Kid’s introduction to the RCA family, the company’s president, Mark Pitts, added, “Besides always having a hot record, I appreciate Rich’s hustle and his ability to get things done. Now, this next phase of his career is about taking everything to the next level, and I’m happy he’s doing it in partnership with us at RCA Records.”
Aside from being the label giant’s latest signee, Kid–who formerly served as an artist under Interscope, Republic, 300, Quality Control, Rostrum, and BMG–also runs his own entertainment enterprise, Rich Forever Music, which is responsible for the notable Famous Dex.
Prior to the announcement of the 30-year-old’s RCA signing, he teased his then-forthcoming song, “Motion,” on Instagram. Now available for listen, the track captures Rich The Kid’s melodic flow over a catchy, trap beat.
“Can’t stop this sh*t, I got motion. She gon’ ride like a wheel, I been rollin’. Why you tryna fix it? It ain’t broken. I’ma do the dash like it’s stolen,” he raps along to his signature sound. “You know cash rules, take her [to] Cancun. Jet got a lot of room. Going up, balloon, you can’t stop this motion.”
