August Alsina has been out of the blogs and back in the booth, and he’s letting you know that the haters have lied to you about some things!

The New Orleans-bred songster has had quite the year, but aside from the mayhem, Alsina’s music is always somewhere in the mix.

Yesterday, the 30-year-old took to his social media to surprise the fans by announcing the release of his all-new song, “Lied To You,” which made its way to streaming platforms at midnight.

Throughout the three-minute track, Alsina can be heard putting a musical spin on the True or False game, as he candidly debunks the media’s fibs and brings the facts.

“If they tell you I came up from nothing then know that they tellin’ the truth. If they told you I been in the trenches believe ‘em they tellin’ the truth,” he croons over the trap melody. “If they told you I came from the back of the tracks then they tellin’ the truth. If they told you that I wouldn’t have ya back, they lied to you.”

Following the unveiling of his solo hit, “Beautiful Way,” which served as an introductory tune to his skincare line, Encina Wellness, “Lied To You” is Alsina’s first drop since collaboration with rising artist, Zu. Earlier this year, the duo, seemingly known as the ZA pack, also debuted a single called “2am.”
