Tristan Thompson has finally reached a settlement in his child support case involving his child with Maralee Nichols. Tristan Thompson to pay Maralee Nichols almost $10k a month.
The 31 year-old NBA player is to pay the sum of $9500 per month and a portion of Maralee Nichols’ legal fees.

Nichols will continue to have sole custody of their son as she has always had, but visitation plans with Tristan Thompson will be sorted out in the nearest future.
Another positive development from the settlement is Tristan will be listed as “father” on Theo’s birth certificate. This is a long time coming because Tristan wanted him as a secret baby.
Theo was born December 2021 and the revelation of his birth was drama filled. His conception was as a result of an affair with Maralee Nichols while in a very public relationship with TV star Khloe Kardashian. The news led to a painful break up between Thompson and Kardashian.
Tristan Thompson, who initially hired Nichols a personal trainer, started an affair with her while he shuffled between cities.
When Nichols revealed her pregnancy, Tristan was not pleased or cordial with her. In a string of text messages, he tried to pay her off with $75,000 and threatened to abandon her.
Thankfully, they have now reached a resolution.
Why is Tristan Thompson paying just $9500?
There is no doubt that $9500 is a lot of money, but compared to what Tristan Thompson has, it’s a very small amount to dish out for his child.
Tristan Thompson is a former Cleveland Cavaliers player and an NBA title holder. He has earned over $110 million dollars from his various contracts.
Unfortunately, as of the time of the court case, he is out of the NBA and playing as a free agent. He may still be rich but the fact that he doesn’t have any ongoing contract played into the court’s decision to peg child support at $9500.
