Far From Home is an illustrious young adult limited series coming to Netflix on December 16th, 2022.

If you are a fan of TV dramas like Gossip girl and Elite then you should be tuning in for Far From Home, set in the most affluent part of Nigeria.

Netflix is no stranger to creating quality content while shining the spotlight on the best talent Africa has to offer.

Far from home is described as a story about, “a financially struggling teen finds himself in the world of luxury after a prestigious scholarship sends him to an exclusive school for the one percent” on Netflix.

Far From Home follows the exploits of Ishaya, an artistic teenage boy whose ambition transcends beyond his family’s financial hardship. He may not have a lot of support but he remains resilient.

The trailer opens up with Ishaya making portraits at home in his free time. We see the string of jobs that he juggles to help his parents at home.

Ishaya gains the once in a lifetime opportunity to attend a prestigious school for the most wealthy kids. Unfortunately, he struggles to adapt and make friends.

Through his desire to make it, he gets embroidered in crime and gains some enemies to which he is indebted to. Ishaya starts selling drugs to his rich classmates to make money faster. This way he constantly tows the line between good and bad.

With all the hurdles, Ishaya has to save his spot in the school, avoid the law, avoid disappointing his family and losing his life.

Far from home promises to be emotional, captivating and action packed while still illuminating the reality of teens from different walks of life. Brought to life by acclaimed Nigerian scriptwriter, Dami Elebe, Chinaza Onuzo among many other talented creatives, it has potential to show the world what it means to be a young Nigerian.

Telling this story is a talented and diverse  cast comprising of Funke Akindele-Bello, Richard Mofe-Damijo,Mike Afolarin,Elma Mbadiwe,Gbubemi Ejeye, Olumide Oworu,Moshood Fattah, Tomi Ojo, Genoveva Umeh,Emeka Nwagbaraocha,Ruby P. Okezie, Raymond Umenze,Natse Jemide,Bucci Franklin, and Bolanle Ninalowo.

Far From Home will be available on Netflix this December 16th.
