Babyface‘s divorce from ex-wife Nicole Pantenburg has been finalized and the two have reached a divorce settlement in which the R&B singer agrees to pay her nearly $40,000 a month in support.

According to a report from Radar Online on Wednesday February 1, 2023, the legendary singer and his ex-wife came to an amicable agreement and arrived at a $37,000 monthly figure. It comes nearly two years after their divorce in the summer of 2021.

The pair have one child together, a 14-year-old daughter named Peyton, who they’ve agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of. The $37,000 will encompass both spousal and child support.

Babyface also agreed to maintain lease payments for Nicole’s Cadillac Escalade, as well as the car insurance. He’ll cover 65% of the cost for his daughter to visit and tour prospective colleges as well.

Babyface married his first wife, Denise during his young adult years. In 1990, Babyface met Tracey Edmonds when she auditioned for the music video for his song “Whip Appeal”. They married on September 5, 1992, and have two sons, Brandon and Dylan. On January 7, 2005, Tracey filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences.

In October 2005, Babyface and Tracey announced that they were ending their marriage of thirteen years. In 2007, Babyface began dating his backup dancer Nicole “Nikki” Pantenburg, who was also the former backup dancer for and personal friend of Janet Jackson. The pair married on May 17, 2014.

The settlement arrives just ahead of the singer’s highly anticipated performance at Super Bowl LVII, where he’ll serve as an opening act alongside Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph and country music star Chris Stapleton. Babyface will sing “America the Beautiful,” while Sheryl Lee Ralph is set to perform the Black national anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and Chris Stapleton will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Singer Ne-Yo and his ex-wife, Crystal Renay Smith, also recently reached a settlement in their divorce. Instead of monthly payments, the singer will pay out a lump sum of $1.6 million. Crystal is also taking one of their four Georgia homes and Ne-Yo will cover $20,000 worth of moving expenses.
