After much hearsay and anticipation, it’s been confirmed that Jay Z will perform “God Did” at the 2023 Grammy Awards this weekend alongside DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, John Legend, and Lil Wayne. Merely two days ahead of the Grammys, it was confirmed on Friday (Feb. 3) that the “Money, Cash, Hoes” rapper will rock the mic at the award show. Trevor Noah will host the 2023 Grammy Awards. In addition to the “God Did” artists, also announced as performers are Lizzo, Bad Bunny, Steve Lacy, Sam Smith, Luke Combs, Kim Petras, Brandi Carlile and Mary J. Blige.

The 65th annual Grammy Awards will take place in Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday (Feb. 5). On Wednesday (Feb. 1), the Recording Academy disclosed that Quavo will perform his heartrending tribute to TakeOff (“Without You” feat. Vory) alongside the Maverick City Music choir. The tribute released in January 2022 and signified Quavo’s first music drop since his nephew’s murder. Zaytoven produced the track along with Mike Dean and Murda Beatz.

Jay Z performing at this years Grammys is almost as exciting as the multi-billion dollar deal he recently closed. According to reports, the super lucrative deal saw the Brooklyn native sell a majority stake in VSOP cognac D’USSÉ. Beforehand, Jigga and Bacardi shared 50/50 ownership of the liquor brand. It’s said, Bacardi now has majority and owns a little more than 75 percent of the popular adult beverage.

Jay Z pocketed several billion from the recent deal with Bacardi. According to reports, “the newly announced acquisition stake was sold at a valuation of $3 billion minimum.” The Roc Nation mogul said in a statement: “Growing D’USSÉ over the past decade from an idea to one of the fastest-selling spirits in history has been a blessing. The next phase of this journey will further cement D’USSÉ’s legacy as one of the world’s most respected brands. I am excited to renew this partnership with Bacardi.”
