Eric Holder Jr., the convicted killer of rapper Nipsey Hussle, is set for sentencing on Wednesday after gunning the music star down outside of his clothing store in South Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old murderer is facing life in prison with the possibility of parole.

On July 6, 2022, Holder was found guilty of first-degree murder. He was also convicted of possession of a firearm by a felon. In addition, he was hit with two counts of assault with a firearm and attempted voluntary manslaughter after two other men were shot during the course of the ambush on March 31, 2019.

After viewing the convicted killer shoot Nipsey Hussle from footage captured from CCTV, jurors found the accusations true that Holder definitely and deliberately discharged a firearm and imposed substantial bodily injury on one of the surviving victims.

In December 2022, Judge H. Clay Jacke II (Los Angeles County Superior Court) shot down a motion by Holder‘s attorney to lessen his charge to voluntary manslaughter or second-degree murder and rejected a bid to host a new trial.

Nipsey Hussle’s Killer Is “Cold-Blooded”

During the trial, John McKinney, Deputy District Attorney, explained to jurors that Nipsey Hussle‘s murder was “calculated” and “cold-blooded,” saying the convicted killer had “quite a bit of time for deliberation and premeditation” prior to returning to The Marathon‘s parking lot where the “Picture Me Rollin” hitmaker was shot 10 times.

McKinney spoke: “Saying, `You’re through,’ before shooting him and shooting him a number of times … kicking him in the head, that’s personal … What makes this murder first-degree is premeditation and deliberation.”

Testimony lasted eight days during the homicide trial, which was postponed for 24 hours following Holder being allegedly attacked in jail.

Aaron Jansen, Holder‘s attorney, said his client was in a jail holding cell and while waiting to be taken to court he was ambushed by other inmates. The attack caused Holder to reportedly lost consciousness. Subsequently, Nipsey Hussle‘s killer suffered swelling on the left side of his face and a badly bruised eye, was subjected to an MRI and three staples had to be placed in the back of his head.
