QT Hotels & Resorts in Perth, Australia has a strict dress code: no shoes, no shirt, no service, and no rappers with a smorgasbord of tattoos. Post Malone stayed at the QT Hotels while on tour in Australia and decided one night to visit their rooftop bar; however, the hip hop star was denied entry by security for infringing their code ‘prohibiting face, neck, and offensive tattoos.’ “They turned me away for my tattoos. I’ve never really experienced anything like that,” said the “Rockstar” rapper, who has roughly seventy-five tattoos, including a dozen or more on his face.
The QT Hotels has rigid policies as far as “face, neck, and offensive tattoos” goes. With that in mind, Post Malone has ink for days on his neck and face, including a hammer, a sword, a crown of barbed wire, a pair of Aces, his daughter’s initials “DDP,” the words “Stay Away” over his eyes and “Always Tired” under them, and more. After being turned away, the “White Iverson” spitter simply went over to 18 Knots (another posh rooftop bar) and bought drinks for patrons while snapping photos with a number of fans. QT Hotels, in the meantime, were composing a letter of apology for treating him like regular Joe.
A representative for QT Hotels & Resorts released a formal apology for turning Post Malone away due to his tattoos. “At QT, we aim to welcome everyone and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual,” said the rep. “QT has been recognized for this for many years. However, on Saturday night, our third-party security did not exercise the appropriate discretion, and we take full responsibility for this. We sincerely apologize to the individuals affected.”
Post Malone was in Australia on a six-date stadium tour aiding Red Hot Chili Peppers with Sunday (Feb. 12) marking his final show. Beforehand, Malone was with Roddy Ricch on his own Twelve Carat tour. Catch the global hip hop sensation next at Bottle Rock Napa Valley 2023.
