If the goal was to get the people talking, Chlöe Bailey has the people doing it. But probably not for what she wanted. The singer is gearing up to release her debut album, which is just weeks away. She recently announced a brand new single, which teams Chloe and Chris Brown, her first featured guest on the project thus far. The single, titled, “How Does It Feel” will be released on Friday, February 24th. Fans reacted to the Chloe and Chris Brown single announcement with everything from disdain for Breezy to shock that Chloe would team up with the singer, considering his somewhat complicated history outside of the music.
There were also many who defended Chris. Despite that complex history, he still has an incredibly strong fanbase and has found success with several female singers over the years. Not sure why Chloe is getting the backlash, but here’s a quick list of recent Chris Brown collabs for context:
Ella Mai featured Chris Brown on her debut album on a song called, “Whatchamacallit.”
H.E.R. featuring Chris Brown on her 2021 album on a song called, “Come Through,” which was also a single on that project. She even released a music video.
Sevyn Streeter featured Chris Brown on her single, “Guilty,” which was released in 2021.
Jhene Aiko famously worked with Chris on “Post To Be” with Omarion, but he was also featuring on “Tryna Smoke” remix off her Chilombo Deluxe album released in 2020.
Just saying there’s a pattern here, and the Chloe and Chris Brown single really shouldn’t be that surprising.
Here’s a look at the fan reactions to the Chloe and Chris Brown single:
