During a TikTok Live on Thursday (Feb 23), Gomez announced her stance. “I’m very happy, I’m so blessed. I have the best friends and the best fans in the whole world and I just couldn’t be happier. I’m good, I love who I am, I don’t care. I’m big, I’m not. I don’t care.”

The “Hotel Transylvania” actress went on: “I’m going to be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly. I’m thirty, I’m too old for this. But I love you so much and I’ll see you guys sooner than later. I’m just gonna take a break from everything.” Naturally, Gomez’s TikTok post was recorded and shared on Twitter by fans.

What Made Selena Gomez Quit Social Media? Here’s Why…

Gomez’s announcement regarding taking a break from social media comes after a windstorm of suspected public drama between her and Hailey Bieber (the wife of her ex-beau Justin Bieber).

It all began months back when the Disney actress reacted to a TikTok video that showed Hailey (alongside pals Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye) mouthing along to a viral soundscape. “I’m not saying she deserved it, but I’m saying God’s timing is always right,” Bieber and her buddies mouthed in the clip.

The clip was deleted shortly after, but a month later a fan re-shared it and Gomez took time to write under the video. “It’s ok! I don’t let these things get me down! Be nice to everyone!” she commented.
